Tiefenbrunner presents its single-vineyard philosophy
On January 27–28, 2017, our estate hosted a major event dedicated to the VIGNA philosophy, the focus on single-vineyard wines. Journalists, scientists and wine experts from Italy, Germany and South Tyrol gathered to debate the future of terroir-driven cru wines. We presented our new Selection Vigna:
- Feldmarschall von Fenner Müller-Thurgau
- Rachtl Sauvignon Blanc Riserva
- Au Chardonnay Riserva
- Toren Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva
Christof Tiefenbrunner emphasized that Feldmarschall – grown since 1972 at 1,000 m – has long been a pioneer of this philosophy. A comparative tasting placed our wines alongside world-class benchmarks.
The press response was highly favorable: Wirtschaftskurier described Tiefenbrunner as a forerunner of Vigna in Alto Adige, Dionysos stressed the role of Vigna as an “identity-builder”, and Alto Adige highlighted the strategic importance of cru wines for the future of viticulture.
Our heartfelt thanks go to our dedicated team, to our guest wineries Ceretto and Bassermann-Jordan, and to all journalists and wine experts who contributed to making the VIGNA event a success.
