What is a Grand Cru for the French is a VIGNA for the Italians and for us South Tyroleans. Our Selection VIGNA comprises four of our best wines, all from traditional vineyards in the South Tyrolean Unterland and at the foot of the Sciliar: Vigna AU Chardonnay, Vigna TOREN Cabernet Sauvignon and Vigna RACHTL Sauvignon Blanc. Plus our Vigna FELDMARSCHALL VON FENNER Müller-Thurgau, a classic of forty years standing which develops Riesling characteristics from its exceptional terroir at 3,280 feet above sea-level.

For all our VIGNA sites, the principle applies: painstaking management of the soil to give the vines natural vigor. Sowing vitalizing plants between the vines, loosening the soil at regular intervals and working without herbicides – all that ensures the best possible conditions for supplying the vines with water and nutrients. Our experience with the optimum interaction of soil, climate and grape variety is one of the strengths of our winery and the key to the outstanding quality and elegance of our wines.
As one of the oldest wine estates in South Tyrol, we combine wine culture with tradition and innovation. Now in the fifth generation, we are proud of our commitment to the art of the vintner and our mission to develop it further in a spirit of respect. For us, fashions are the downfall of distinctive wines. And we make wines that stand out – wines with a personality of their own: matured over time and shaped by their origins and history.
