Description:
This wine is ready to drink while it is still very young on account of its freshness. It is harmonious and mild, with a pale ruby colour, and fine fruit aromas of sour cherry and bitter almonds. A pleasant freshness accompanies its full-bodied and juicy finish.
Serving suggestion:
Pairs well with nearly any meat or fish, but matches exceptionally well with sausage or South Tyrolean speck, as well as white meats
Grape varieties: 97 % Vernatsch (Schiava) – 3% Lagrein
Vineyard location: south-southeast facing hillside vineyards in Kurtatsch (270 – 400 meters above sea level)
Soil: chalk gravel moraine soil
Growing system: pergola; 3,500 vines / hectare
Yield: 70 - 75 hl / hectare
Age of vines: till 40 years
Vinification: fermentation in stainless steel tanks between 20 – 21°C; till the bottling 4 months on the fine lees in the tank aged
Receptacles: stainless steel
Alcohol content: 12.5% by vol.
Total acidity: 4.5 g / liter
Residual sugars: 2.6 g / liter |
