Wine description:

A deep garnet-red color, this wine exhibits understated aromas of cherries, cassis and wild berries. Forceful yet round in flavor, its impressive depth and elegance persist throughout its lingering finish.

 

Serving suggestion:

An excellent accompaniment to pork, veal, or beef, lamb, poultry, game or gamebirds, as well as cheeses.

 

Grape varieties: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Vineyard lacation: south to southwest facing vineyards around the ruined castle "Castrum Linticlar" (260 – 300 meters above sea level) as well as the "Castel Turmhof" vineyard in Entiklar

Soil composition: chalk gravel moraine soil

Growing system: guyot - 7.000 vines / hectare

Yield: 45 hl / hectare

Age of wines: till 13 - 16 years

Vinification: Primary fermentation in stainless steel tanks; followed by malolatic fermentation;12 months aged in barriques.

Receptacles: stainless steel and barriques (french), 60% new

Alcohol content: 13.5% by vol.

Total acidity: 5.0 g / litre

Residual sugars: 2.7 g / litre

Dry extract: 30.0 g / litre
